The Nigerian Football Federation, NFF has revealed venues and date for the quarter-final fixtures of President Federation Cup. NFF, being the organisers of the competition has fixed all the quarter-final matches to be played on Wednesday, June 5. Meanwhile, headline fixture of the round between Sunshine Stars and Kano Pillars will be played at the Area 3 Pitch, Abuja. Former champions El-Kanemi Warriors will lock horns with Inter Lagos at the Bwari Stadium, Abuja. 

Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos has announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 34. He shared this news in a letter to Real Madrid fans, expressing his gratitude for their love and support since he joined the club in 2014. Kroos also confirmed that the 2024 Euros will mark his final international appearance.

Nigerian midfielder Alex Iwobi has revealed why he had to turn down England to play for Nigeria at senior level. Iwobi, a former Arsenal star, graduated from Arsenal youth team and played for England at U16, U17, and U18 levels before becoming cap-tied to Nigeria. He played his competitive debut against Egypt in an African Cup of Nations qualifier on March 25, 2016. 

Juventus on Friday terminated the services of its head coach Massimiliano Allegri, over his behavior during and after this week's Coppa Italia final. Juve said in a statement that they had dismissed Allegri for “certain behavior during and after the Italian Cup final that the club deemed incompatible with its values”. The Serie A club won their 15th Italian Cup on Wednesday night but Allegri burst into a rage, first being sent off in the final minutes after ranting at match officials and then dismissively waving away sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli during the post-match celebrations. He is also alleged to have manhandled and threatened the chief editor of the newspaper Tuttosport before the post-match press conference.

Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson will miss their Premier League title decider and the FA Cup final because of a fractured eye socket. The 30-year-old Brazil international was unhappy at being replaced after 69 minutes of Tuesday’s 2-0 league win at Tottenham following a collision with Spurs’ Cristian Romero.
