Google has rolled out Workplace Studio, a new Workspace hub designed to let employees build AI agents that automate everyday tasks and streamline complex workflows, without writing a single line of code. Powered by the advanced reasoning and multimodal capabilities of Gemini 3, Google says the tool enables users to create custom agents “in minutes” simply by using natural language.
“Harnessing the reasoning power and multimodal understanding of Gemini 3, we've built AI automation that's simple to use, deeply integrated into Google Workspace, and puts custom agent creation in the hands of every employee. With Workspace Studio, you can build agents in minutes to automate everyday work, from simple tasks to complex workflows,” the company said in a blog post.
According to Google, earlier automation systems were limited by complexity and rigid design. “Legacy automation tools tried to help, but they were simply too rigid and technical for the everyday user. That's why we're bringing custom agents directly into Workspace with Studio so you can delegate these repetitive tasks to agents that can reason, understand context, and handle the work that used to slow you down,” it added.
Workplace Studio is designed to give users full control of agent-based automation. Employees can build agents using conversational prompts, automate anything from inbox management to multi-step processes like project planning, and share their creations as easily as sharing a file in Drive.
The agents integrate seamlessly across Workspace apps, including Gmail, Drive, and Chat, allowing them to interpret context, follow organizational policies, and generate personalized content in a user's tone. Beyond Google's ecosystem, they can also manage end-to-end workflows across tools such as Asana, Jira, Mailchimp, and Salesforce.
Backed by Gemini 3, the agents can perform sentiment analysis, generate content and smart alerts, adapt to new information on the fly, and execute complex enterprise tasks.
Google says Workplace Studio will begin rolling out to business customers in the coming weeks, with access becoming available through the Workspace Studio portal once deployment reaches each organization.
