The Federal Executive Council (FEC) on Wednesday approved the sum of N75 billion for the establishment of the Nigerian Youth Investment Fund (NYIF). The NYIF also tagged 'the Youth Bank', which would create financial support for creative and innovative Nigerian youths within the age range of 18 and 35 years to access credit facilities and financing.

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Lagos Territorial office has on Thursday received another batch of 161 stranded Nigerians from Mtiga in Libya. In commemoration of this year’s international Students Day, the African Students Education Support Initiative (ASESI) has called on African leaders to invest more in creating modern academic environment for students. ASESI’s Executive Director, Mr Chinonso Obasi, in a statement on Saturday in Abuja, regretted that the current learning environment found across Africa would not produce graduates who could be globally competitive.
