The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu has issued an order to all Assistant Inspectors-General in charge of zonal commands and also state Commissioners of Police to detain and dismiss from the Nigeria Police Force any officer, found guilty of violating the rights of the citizens. Vigil360 reported earlier during the week about the IGPs ban of the patrol of the Federal Special Anti Robbery Squad (FSARS) and other special teams. The IGP has further issued a directive in a letter for a compilation of recent cases of violation of citizens’ rights and abuse of power by the FSARS, Intelligence Response Team (IRT), Special Tactical Squad (STS), Special Anti Cultism Squad (SACS) and other similar teams, to be forwarded to his office by Friday.

The Founder of the Niger Delta People’s Volunteer Force (NDPVF), Mujihad Asari-Dokubo has said the plight and struggles to restore the Biafra Republic is an effort in futility under the leadership of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), saying, Kanu has completely derailed from the cause of the struggle. Dokubo, stated this while speaking to the Vanguard newspaper expressing his regrets for associating with Kanu from the first place. He said "It gives me regret that in my life, I ever associated with a person called Nnamdi Kanu, especially during his crisis with government, stressing his greatest regret was associating himself with Kanu.

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu has deployed DIG Research and Planning, Adeleye Oyabade, to be in charge of the Nigerian Police Force general security ahead of the forthcoming Ondo governorship election slated for October 10, 2020. This was announced in a statement on Friday by the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Frank Mba, saying the Assistant Inspector-General (AIG) of Police in charge of Federal Operations, Karma Hosea Hassan and 11 Commissioners of Police have also been deployed to assist the DIG.

Borno state Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, has yesterday called on President Buhari to seek help from his Chadian counterpart for troops to help Nigeria forces fight Boko Haram. Though, the Chadian President Idriss Deby had declared that his Chadian troop will no longer participate in an external military operation after he complained that his allies had failed to go the extra mile in the fight against the Boko Haram and ISWAP.

The Defence Headquarters says 13 Boko Haram terrorists alongside six women and 17 children from Kodila village have surrendered to troops of 151 Task Force Battalion at Banki Junction in Bama Local Government Area of Borno State. The Coordinator, Defence Media Operations, John Enenche, made the above information public in a statement on Sunday September, 27, 2020 in Abuja. Major Enenche stated that the Boko Haram suspects and their family members who surrendered on September 26, 2020, have been receiving medical attention at the 21 Special Armoured Brigade Medical Centre.

"The suspects are currently undergoing thorough profiling and investigation in line with global best practice in handling such cases.

"The Armed Forces of Nigeria and other security agencies remain resolute, determined and committed to sustaining the tempo of the operations," the Defence Spokesman stated.
