The executive Governor of Nasarawa State, Engr. Abdullahi Sule on Tuesday disclosed that the remaining operatives of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) who were allegedly kidnapped by suspected bandits in the State had been freed. The 26 officers were traveling for training at the FRSC’s Academy at Udi in Enugu State when they were abducted by suspected bandits.

Colonel DC Bako, the Commander of 25 Task Force Brigade of Operation Lafiya Dole in Borno State has been killed by Boko Haram Terrorists. The commander died in a military hospital where he was receiving treatment after sustaining injuries in combat with the insurgents in an ambush around Damboa in the Southern Borno axis. In a statement by Ado Isa, spokesperson of Operation Lafiya Dole, Col. DC Bako he said, "Operation LAFIYA DOLE wishes to intimate the general public of the demise of one of our gallant and finest war heroes Col DC Bako.

The Federal government of Nigeria has reacted to the recent Visa ban against election riggers by the United States, describing the action as disrespectful to our corporate sovereignty as an independent country in the League of Nations. The Federal Government made this known through a statement made on Friday Night in Abuja by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and was read by, Mr. Ferdinand Nwoye, spokesperson for the ministry.

President Muhammadu Buhari has signed the Nigeria Police Bill 2020 into law. This was disclosed on Thursday by The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina in a statement entitled “President Buhari asserts to Police Bill, 2020”. Mr. Adesina said the President communicated his assent to the Bill to the National Assembly through the Clerk of the legislature in a memo dated September 16, 2020. The statement read, “The Act repeals the Police Act Cap. P19. Laws of the Federation, 2004, and provides for a more effective and well organized Police Force, driven by the principles of transparency and accountability in its operations and management of its resources.

In reaction to information from Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) which has since gone viral about a possible planned attack by terrorists on Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, the Nigeria Army has moved to reassure residents that they are on red alert to combat any form of criminality. A statement from the Nigeria Army signed by Coordinator Defence Media Operations, John Eneche, on Sunday, said: the Armed Forces of Nigeria working together with other security and response agencies particularly the core intelligence agencies hereby assure the general public that preventive and preemptive intelligence is ongoing."The Defence Headquarters wishes to reassure residents of FCT and other adjoining states that the Armed Forces of Nigeria and other security agencies have been on red alert to combat crime and ensure effective surveillance of the Federal Capital Territory and other states of the country. This is an imperative sequel to a purported memorandum from the Nigeria Customs Service warning its staff on a possible attack on the FCT.

The Defence Headquarters says the Air Component of Operation Thunder Strike has neutralised several armed bandits in air raids on their camps in the Kuduru and Kwaimbana Forest areas of Kaduna State. Maj.-Gen. John Enenche who disclosed this in a statement on Friday in Abuja informed that the successes were achieved through separate airstrikes carried out on Wednesday and Thursday.
