It has been gathered that three persons have reportedly lost their lives following an explosion in Okene Local Government Area, behind the palace of Traditional ruler, Oyinoyi in Kogi state. The explosion rocked the area in the early hours of 29th December 2022.

Mr. President on Tuesday directed the Nigeria Police Force to ensure the policemen involved in the killing of a Lagos-based lawyer, are brought to justice. Buhari said “the strongest possible action” must be taken against the remanded policemen who reportedly shot and killed Omobolanle Raheem. “I assure you that justice will be done in this case,” the President said in a statement signed by his spokesman, Garba Shehu, title “President condemns killing of Omobolanle Raheem, says justice must be done.”

A yet-to-be-identified police officer attached to Lagos police command yesterday shot dead a female lawyer, Bolanle Rahim unprovoked. The incident happened yesterday, Sunday when the deceased was returning with members of her family from the church after attending Christmas service. The Defence Headquarters said no fewer than 130 Boko Haram/Islamic State of West Africa State Province (ISWAP) terrorists have been neutralized by troops in recent weeks. Addressing journalists in Abuja on Thursday, the Director, Defence Media Operations, Maj.Gen. Musa Danmadami, the troops of Operations Hadin Kai and Hadarin Daji killed the terrorist at separate destinations in the North-East and North-West, adding that the troops apprehended four terrorist commanders and 12 logistics suppliers. He also said that 423 insurgents and members of their families comprising 41 males, 126 females and 222 children surrendered to troops.
