The Court of Appeal sitting in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo state yesterday struck out the judgement awarded in favour of the Yoruba-Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo better known as Sunday Igboho, by the High court. Recall High court sitting in Ibadan had sometimes last year awarded damage against the Department of States Services, DSS, for allegedly invading the residence of Sunday Igboho for his possible arrest in July 2021. The presiding Judge, Justice Ladiran Akintola in his ruling declared that the raid carried out by the DSS was unlawful and therefore directed the secret police to pay damages to the agitator for attempting to arrest him.

The Northern Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has thrown its weight behind Mr. Government Ekpemupolo, AKA Tompolo after securing the contract for pipeline surveillance, saying he is just like any other Nigeria that can secure a contract with the Federal government. The group noted that it has resolved to support every government initiative that is pro-Nigerians as long as it is in the interest of the general citizen's welfare.

A Federal High court sitting in Abuja has today struck out the application filed by the federal government seeking to extradite the super Cop, Abba Kari to the United States to face a trial in an alleged fraud-related case. Justice Inyang Ekwo, the trial judge hinged his decision on the premise that Kyari was already facing a trial in Nigeria filled by the Attorney general of the federation, Abubakar Malami, and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA against him. The Judge submitted that section 3 of Nigerian Extradition Law forbids the country from extraditing someone whose undergoing a trial in the country until the case is concluded against them.

An unspecified number of persons have become trapped after a building collapsed on them at Kubwa, Federal Capital Territory, FCT Abuja on Friday. The three-storey building, which was still under construction is said to be a new hotel located specifically near Freedom Christ Mission Church, on Hamza Abdullahi Street, off Gado Nasco Road, Kubwa, Bwari Area Council.

The Nigeria Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) has advised Nigerians against traveling to Northern Cyprus due to alleged reports of Nigerians being killed and subjected to human rights abuses in the country.

The former Chairman of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) Professor Charles Quaker Dokubo, is dead. Dokubo passed on at age 70 after a brief illness on Wednesday evening August 24, at an undisclosed hospital in Abuja. The former Niger Delta amnesty boss was born in Abonnema, Akuku Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State on March 23 March 1952. He had his primary and Secondary School education in the same Abonnema. Dokubo had primary and secondary education in Abonnema and did his ‘A’ levels at Huddersfield Technical College in West Yorkshire.
