Some Nigerians living abroad, under the aegis of International Advocacy for Human Rights and Anti-Corruption, have decried the challenges they face in securing National Identification Numbers (NIN) and renewing Nigerian Passports abroad, urging the government to step in and address their concerns.
The Federal Government has elevated the status of Victor Attah Airport in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, to an International airport, in an announcement made on Thursday in Abuja, by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, during a meeting with the state governor, Pastor Umo Eno.
The Federal Government has stated that the completed section 1 of the ongoing Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway will be open to vehicles between December 12 and 17. The administration is also planning to publicly launch Section 1 in April 2026. Section 1 requires approximately two kilometres to be completed. Engr. David Umahi, Minister of Works, disclosed these on Sunday during an inspection tour of the coastal highway. The examination covered a total of 47.37 kilometers.
The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority stated on Saturday that Air Tanzania's passengers who were stuck in Dar es Salaam over the weekend were given hotel accommodations and meals. Michael Achimugu, the NCAA's Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, acknowledged in a statement published on X that the organization is keeping a careful eye on the issue until every traveler arrives safely. In the end, travelers were provided with lodging and food.
A Nigerian airline, United Nigeria Airlines, handed over social media influencer Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkman (VDM), and comedian Freedom Atsepoyi, widely known as Mr. Jollof, to airport security following an altercation between the duo on Monday during the boarding of Flight UN0523 at Asaba International Airport, Delta State.
The Lagos State Government stated that it will commence an eight-month road reconstruction on the Lekki-Ajah corridor, starting from 15th November 2025, to curb the traffic congestion and improve road quality along the axis. This was made public in a statement by the Commissioner for Transport, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, on 12th November 2025, disclosing that the project is expected to run in two phases until 15th July 2026.
