Actor Alex Ekubo, 40, passed away Monday night at Evercare Hospital in Lekki, Lagos, after reportedly battling liver cancer. Boma Akpore, a former BBNaija star and Director of Communication for the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, confirmed the news, stating that the actor's body had been moved to Ebony Vaults in Ikoyi. Godwin Nnadiekwe, a colleague, also confirmed the death in an Instagram post, writing, "I'm struggling to find the words because this wasn't the plan, Alex Ekubo." Veteran director Lancelot Imasuen, who gave Ekubo, described the loss as "devastating." After apparently battling liver cancer, Ekubo passed away on Monday night at Evercare Hospital in Lekki, Lagos.
