Kabiru Marafa, a former senator from Zamfara Central, has left the All Progressives Congress, or APC. Marafa said that the APC's betrayal of its members was the reason he left the party. In a video addressed to his followers, the former legislator said that the party was causing division among its Zamfara State members.
Marafa remarked in Hausa that there was a great deal of treachery and split within the APC.
He revealed that following days of deliberation, he decided to leave the APC.
After two days of talks with my people on political issues beginning with the APC government two years ago, Marafa stated: "I want to utilize this means to notify my followers in Zamfara state, north, and Nigeria as a whole that we believe it is important to let people know that the APC has deceived and misled us in Nigeria and Zamfara State.
Since Bala Buni took over the party's affairs from former governor Matawalle, they have not met once till now, making this the state's greatest point of treachery.
"The party has been split into two sections: one for Matawalle and the other for Bala Buni. We have been asking them to settle their disagreements for the past two years and six months, but nothing has been done.
