The Nigerian Government has opened the portal for eligible Nigerians to access the N75 Billion Nigeria Youth Investment Fund (NYIF). The fund is accessible to youths between the ages of 18 to 35 with viable business ideas.

Lagos has suffered yet another gas explosion that rocked Baruwa, Ipaja area of the state on Thursday morning throwing the residents into pandemonium. According to eyewitness, the incident happened at about 6am. The state emergency management agencies are yet to arrive the area at the time of filing this report. Five persons have reportedly lost their lives in the explosion while three persons were rescued and being hospitalized for further treatment.

The Federal Government has on Wednesday announced a total shutdown of Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos for two days from midnight on Friday to midnight on Sunday, as part of the on-going repair works on the 11.8km platform. The above announcement was contained in a statement by the Federal Controller of Works, Lagos, Joshua Popoola. The statement explained that the contractor currently carrying out repairs on the bridge, Messrs Borini Prono & Co. (Nig.) Ltd, is getting close to completion of works on the closed section of Third Mainland Bridge and requires the total closure of both bounds of the bridge between Adeniji Adele and Adekunle to complete the work.

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the disbursement of N10 billion for the next phase of the Enumeration Area Demarcation (EAD) exercise in the remaining 546 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the country. The acting Chairman of the National Population Commission (NPC), Eyitayo Oyetunji made this public during a press conference on Monday in Abuja. The chairman said “I am however pleased to announce that His Excellency, Mr President has reaffirmed his commitment towards the successful completion of the EAD and indeed towards the conduct of the next census by approving the release of the total sum of N10 billion for the continuation of the EAD in the remaining 546 local governments in the country.”
