Kidnapped Nasarawa LG Chairman, Others Regain Freedom
The Chairman of Akwanga Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, Hon Safiyanu Isa Andaha, and his political godfather Adamu Umar Custom who were kidnapped on New Year's Day have regained their freedom. It was gathered reliably that the sum of N10m was paid to the kidnappers after the initial demand of N50m which was negotiated before they were released.
Spokesperson of the Nasarawa State Police Command, DSP Ramhan Nansel, who confirmed the release to Channels TV on Wednesday said Andaha and the three others were released about 8:45 PM on Tuesday in Andaha village, Akwanga local government area.
