A Nigerian Olawunmi Bayode has set a new Guinness Record in the “Longest Marathon Reading Aloud” Category.

Bayode, the father of three kids, logged 120 hours at 15.30 today at the YouRead Library Yaba in Lagos, beating the previous record set by Nepali Deepak Sharma Bajagain.

The Nigerian government is taking a US university to court, accusing it of mishandling scholarship students' access to funds meant for rent, books and food.

The government has joined dozens of Nigerian students in a lawsuit against Alabama State University which dates back to 2016.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board on Thursday banned the use of 16 items in the forthcoming mock examinations scheduled for February 26, 2018. The Board made the position known in a memo issued by the Secretary of JAMB UTME Monitoring Groups, Ngozi Egbuna to members of Civil Society Group.

The Maritime University, Okerenkoko, Delta state has been accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC to begin undergraduate degree programmes from the 2017/2018 academic session.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President on Media and Publicity, Mr Laolu Akande, said the approval underscored government’s commitment to develop Niger Delta in line with the administration’s new vision to develop the region.

According to him, the NUC approved that academic activities begin in three faculties, Transport, Engineering and Environmental Management.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) says the much anticipated conduct of the 2018 Mock Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will hold on Feb. 26.

JAMB’s Head, Media and Information, Dr Fabian Benjamin, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday in Lagos.

According to him, a total of 245,753 of the 1,652,795 candidates that registered for this year’s UTME are expected to write the test.

The Ministry of Education on Tuesday launched the 2017/2018 Annual School Census, aimed at solving the problem of out-of-school children. The Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, said at the ceremony in Abuja that the census was designed to obtain the accurate number of schools and validate the figures.
