The Nigerian Air Force revealed it has continued its counterterrorism operation with new airstrikes that killed multiple fighters and destroyed a terrorist enclave in Borno State. According to the NAF, the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai conducted the operation near Yaganari in the Gezuwa general region on July 10 in response to reliable information of resumed terrorist activity. Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the Air Force's Director of Public Relations and Information, said in a statement on Saturday that intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance operations verified the existence of terrorist facilities and logistical centers prior to the targets being attacked.

The teachers and students kidnapped in Oyo State's Orire Local Government Area have been liberated. Bayo Onanuga, the President's Special Advisor on Information and Strategy, revealed the development on Friday.
Onanuga only declared that the victims' kidnappers had freed them in a shared post on his verified X handle. He claimed that no compromise was made to the terrorists in order to obtain the release of the teachers and students who had been kidnapped.

The post states that at around 3:25 p.m. on Sunday, troops from Sector 8, Sub-Sector 81, stationed in Gyambwas, responded to reports of intermittent gunfire near the Gimti Galadima, Kobodon, and Kaduno districts. When the military arrived, armed individuals were trying to set fire to multiple Fulani settlements, according to security sources Makama said.

President Bola Tinubu has urged the media to avoid serving as a platform for bandits and terrorists, stressing the need for responsible journalism as Nigeria continues efforts to address security challenges. The President made the appeal on Thursday while speaking at the maiden State House Press Corps Presidential Dinner held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
