Human rights activist, Mahdi Shehu, has fired back at former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, saying he was being hypocritical over his recent comments on security strategies in the country. Shehu was reacting to El-Rufai’s interview on Channels Television last week, Shehu said it was ironic for the former governor to condemn incumbent, Uba Sani and National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, for allegedly making payments to bandits, when he himself once admitted to taking similar steps.

Southern Borno Senator, Mohammed Ali Ndume, has condemned renewed Boko Haram onslaught on Ngoshe community and Mussa in in Gwoza and Askira/Uba Local Government Areas respectively which left several people dead over the weekend. In Ngoshe, five farmers were slaughtered while tilling their farmlands on Saturday morning. The same night in Mussa, gunmen invaded the community, killing three youths and setting houses and shops ablaze setting pandemonium in both communities.
