A coordinated intelligence-driven operation by the Department of State Services (DSS) has reportedly led to the killing of more than 60 suspected bandits, including a notorious kingpin, during a major security operation in Bakori Local Government Area of Katsina State.

A sensitive Department of State Services intelligence report that warned of planned attacks by suspected Boko Haram terrorists and bandits in portions of Adamawa and Borno states has been leaked, prompting the Nigerian Army to launch an investigation. According to the findings, top officers of the 232 Battalion in Yola, Adamawa State, have launched an internal investigation to determine who disseminated the private security document that the DSS had initially delivered to warn the military of approaching threats.
