Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has criticized the N70,000 new minimum wage approved for workers by President Bola Tinubu, describing the pay as grossly inadequate to meet up workers’ basic needs of workers like transportation, food, and housing. The former President accused labour leaders of betraying workers by prioritizing personal interests over collective welfare.
Special Adviser to the President on Media and Policy, Daniel Bwala, has slammed reports originating from the United State Congress that Christians in Nigeria are being persecuted under Bola Tinubu’s government. Bwala faulted the report as disinformation saying that Tinubu remains committed to promoting peace and religious tolerance.

The lawmakers directed the Commission to comply with immediate effect and prevail on all internet service providers to block all such contents to safeguard the youth moral in the mist of decadence.
Nigerian troops of the Joint Taskforce, Northeast Operation Hadin-Kai have rescued a total number of 75 persons from Sambisa forest, Borno State during a fierce operation. Briefing newsmen on Monday during the victims’ handover to the Borno State Government in Maiduguri, the General Officer Commanding 7 Division of the Nigerian Army, Maj. Gen. W. Shaibu stated that the rescued persons comprised seven adult males, 34 women, and 34 children. The GOC, represented by the Deputy Theater Commander, Brig. Gen. A.L. Akpodu explained that the civilians were rescued during a clearance operation conducted by the 21 Special Armored Brigade and the 199 Special Forces Battalion under Operation Desert Sanity IV in Sambisa Forest.
The Defence Headquarters has disagreed with the report of Global Terrorism Index saying the Nigerian military has more accurate account and comprehensive report of counter-terrorism efforts in the country compare to those from external sources. The Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Markus Kangye, made the revelation this morning while fielding questions on the 2025 Global Terrorism Index, which was released yesterday by the office.
The Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Olatunji Disu, has on Tuesday advised residents of FCT to be vigilant against criminal activities during the period of Ramadan. Disu said this in a statement through the Command’s Spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, “As we enter the sacred month of Ramadan—a time for spiritual reflection and community bonding—the FCT Police Command urges residents to remain vigilant against criminal activities during this period”.
