The federal government has concluded a plan to parade the detained suspects linked to an alleged plot to overthrow the President Bola Tinubu-led administration for concealment of treason, terrorism and money laundering. The suspects are former Governor of Bayelsa State, Timpre Sylva; Major General Mohammed Ibrahim Gana (rtd); a retired Navy Captain, Erasmus Ochegobia Victor; and Inspector Ahmed Ibrahim. Others are Zekeri Umoru, Bukar Kashim Goni and Abdulkadir Sani. A 13-count charge was filed against them on Tuesday.

Few weeks after President Bola Tinubu visited Plateau State and promised justice for victims of serial attacks, the State Government on Friday filed charges against five suspects arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS) in connection with the March 2026 killings of several persons in Angwa- Rukuba, Jos North LGA of the state. The government filed charges of criminal conspiracy to commit terrorism and other related offences against the quartet of Isa Umar Ibrahim, Auwalu Abubakar aka Auwalu Dogo, and Musa Abubakar Ibrahim aka Yaroro.

The Nigeria Police Academy's governing board has been reorganized by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who has also approved the construction of a new campus in Ogun State and a N15 billion take-off grant intended to increase the Nigerian Police Force's training capacity. In the Okuju neighborhood of Ilado, Badagry, Lagos, agents of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Lagos State Command, have discovered an illicit baby factory. This was revealed on Friday while victims between the ages of 18 and 30 were brought to the NSCDC office in Ibereko, Badagry, by State Commandant Adedotun Keshinro. He stated that two suspected facility operators, Joy Okeke and Raphael Agwu, were also taken into custody during an operation that took place from Wednesday night into the early hours of Thursday and resulted in the rescue of 18 pregnant women and 10 toddlers.

The Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) has intensified efforts with the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to curb revenue leakages and enhance remittances in its operations across the nation. Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, Comptroller-General of Customs, announced on Monday in Abuja during a training program focused on AI-powered revenue generation, remittances, and reconciliation for the Service. He explained that integrating AI is part of wider reforms designed to enhance transparency, accountability, and efficiency in managing revenue. AI tools can analyze patterns, such as inconsistencies in cargo weight, to detect discrepancies in declarations, helping to identify under-declarations and reduce revenue loss.
