A joint air operation conducted by the Nigerian military under Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) in collaboration with the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM) has reportedly eliminated 21 suspected fighters of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) in Borno State. The strike targeted a terrorist stronghold in Arege, located in Kukawa Local Government Area, on May 30 after intelligence indicated the presence of insurgents in the area.

The Northern Ethnic Youth Group Assembly (NEYGA) has chided Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, presidential candidates of the All Democratic Congress (ADC) and National Democratic Congress (NDC), for what they described as their "politicisation" of Nigeria's security challenges. United States Secretary of Defence Pete Hegseth has reaffirmed Washington’s commitment to supporting Nigeria in its fight against insurgency, stating that the U.S. military will continue to collaborate with Nigerian authorities in tackling terrorist threats. A Federal High Court in Abuja has reserved judgement in the trial of five men accused by the Department of State Services (DSS) of involvement in the June 5, 2022 attack on St. Francis Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo State. Justice Emeka Nwite announced the decision on Tuesday after hearing the final submissions from both the prosecution and defence teams. Although the matter was adjourned indefinitely, the judge informed counsel that they would be notified once the judgement is ready, adding that the notice could come within 24 hours.

A luxury passenger bus carrying military camouflage uniforms, cannabis sativa, and other illegal goods that were reportedly smuggled into the nation was stopped by the Nigeria Customs Service's Ogun I Area Command at Idiroko. Around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, the illegal goods were stopped while being transported to the country's east via the Sagamu–Ore–Benin Expressway.
