President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will depart Abuja on May 2 for official visits to France, Kenya and Rwanda as part of a three-nation diplomatic tour. The trip was disclosed in a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, who outlined the President’s itinerary and engagements. According to the statement, Tinubu’s first stop will be France before proceeding to Nairobi, Kenya, for the Africa-France Summit scheduled to begin next week.
The summit, co-chaired by Emmanuel Macron and William Ruto, will address issues such as energy transition, green industrialisation, digital transformation, global financial reforms and climate action.
Held under the theme “Africa Forward: Africa-France Partnerships for Innovation and Growth,” the meeting will provide a platform for discussions on economic transformation, infrastructure development, youth empowerment and peace-building initiatives.
After the Kenya summit, Tinubu will travel to Kigali, Rwanda, to attend the Africa CEO Forum from May 14 to 15, where business leaders and policymakers will focus on scaling growth, regional integration and cross-border investments in partnership with the International Finance Corporation.
At both events, the President is expected to highlight his administration’s reforms to attract investment, engage global and African business leaders, and will return to Nigeria at the end of the Rwanda summit.
