A Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail of N500 million to a former governor of Imo State and presidential aspirant, Rochas Okorocha. The presiding judge, Justice Inyang Ekwo gave the ruling on Tuesday, stating that a surety, who owns a property in Abuja, worth not less than N500 million is also required for the bail application.

A Lagos High Court on Friday has sentenced a Dane, Peter Nielsen, to death by hanging for killing his Nigerian wife and daughter. Nielsen was arraigned on June 13, 2018. Justice Bolanle Okikiolu-Ighile convicted Nielsen, 54, on two counts of murder brought against him by the Lagos State Government.
A former Managing Director (MD) of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Mr. Nsima Ekere was arrested on Wednesday by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged fraud to the tune of N47 billion. Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested the current Accountant General of the Federation (AGF), Mr. Ahmed Idris on Monday over alleged diversion of funds and money laundering to the tune of N80 billion. This was disclosed by the Commission’s spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren in a statement titled ‘EFCC arrests Ahmed Idris, Accountant-General of the Federation for N80Bn Fraud’.
