Gunmen have killed three policemen and injured two persons while setting a police vehicle ablaze at the Ezeiweka area of the commercial city of Onitsha, Anambra State. It was gathered that the two persons injured were also cops during the shooting incident at a security post mounted by the police operatives.

The Yobe Police Command says it has arrested a 22-year-old Yobe housewife, Khadija Yakubu, for allegedly Killing three Stepchildren with Poison in Potiskum town, Yobe State. The incident occurred at Makara-Huta area of Potiskum in the early hours of Friday when the three deceased drank a poisoned tea allegedly prepared by their stepmother. ASP Dungus Abdulkarim, the Police Public Relations Officer in the Yobe State Police Command, confirmed the incident, noting that the suspect had been apprehended. According to him, the victims were; Umar Alh Haruna, aged 12; Ahmed Alh Haruna, aged 9; Maryam Alh Haruna, aged 11 as well as a 7-year-old Zainab Alh Haruna.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has listed six Nigerians among 38 global financiers of terrorism and other criminal activities. According to WAM news agency, the information was released on Monday during the UAE’s federal cabinet meeting in Abu Dhabi. The six Nigerians are Abdurrahaman Ado Musa, Salihu Yusuf Adamu, Bashir Ali Yusuf, Muhammed Ibrahim Isa, Ibrahim Ali Alhassan, and Surajo Abubakar Muhammad.

Olajide, the younger brother of Omoyele Sowore, Sahara Reporters’ Publisher and human rights activist, has been murdered. Sowore, who announced the death in a Facebook post on Saturday said his brother was killed by suspected herdsmen operating as kidnappers in Edo state. Senator Bala Ibn Na’Allah representing Kebbi South has commented on the death of his son, pilot Abdulkarim Na’Allah, who was murdered in cold blood in his house on Saturday in Kaduna state by unknown assailants. In a statement on Monday by the lawmaker, Bala Ibn expressed hope that the death of his son would play a major role in finding solutions to Nigeria’s security problems. Senator Na’Allah while narrating the ordeal said the assailants who murdered his son were not armed with guns and that they gained access to his residence through the roof and strangled him. The lawmaker said that he would continue to love his dear son in death as he was a wonderful person in his life. Senator Na’Allah also said the life of his late son was not better than that of any other Nigerian, adding that the family has left everything in the hands of Almighty Allah. The senator also appreciated the Nigerian Police and Kaduna government for their intervention and prayed God to grant his son eternal rest.
