Former Military Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon has appealed to Nigerians to be cautioned as the government grappled with issues of insecurity, disunity and other challenges confronting the country.

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on Saturday said its Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation LAFIYA DOLE has successfully destroyed a Boko Haram Terrorists’ (BHT) Command and Control Centre in Dusula, on the fringes of the Sambisa Forest in Borno.

NOBEL Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, on Thursday called on President Muhammadu Buhari to declare a state of emergency as a way to addressing the state of insecurity in the country.

The Nigerian service chiefs had yesterday met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. The leadership of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders’ Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in the South-East, Alhaji Siddiki Gidado, has attributed the continued killings and kidnapping in the region to non-Fulani bandits.

Worried by the incessant cases of kidnappings and killings in the South-West, the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu says the Force has perfected plans to deploy the Special Anti-Kidnapping Squad to the six states in the South-West geopolitical zone.
