Following hostilities melted on residents of Katsina state on Wednesday, President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the immediate reinforcement of security architecture in the state. He added that the culprit should be traced and arrested subsequently.

The Federal Government of Nigeria in concert with the Nigerian Governors’ Forum is proposing to recruit National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members and graduates of the N -Power Scheme as recruits for the Nation's Community policing programme. The move if actualized would beef up the manpower needs of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).

Taraba state Governor, Arc. Darius Ishaku on Wednesday 4th July 2019 signed into law capital punishment for kidnappers in the state. This followed the recent enactment of the edict by the State's House of Assembly on anti-kidnapping. The new law states that anyone convicted of kidnapping would be liable to a death sentence.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday had a closed-door meeting with the security chiefs at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. Speaking after the meeting, the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshall Abubakar Sadique, said the meeting was all about the security of Nigerians and Nigeria.
