The Federal House of representative has declared a national emergency on the increasing spate of ritual killings in the country. The lawmakers called on the Inspector General of Police to rise to his task and bring the perpetrators to book before it spread like wildfire.
The Reps members also called on the Nigerian Film and Video Censors Board to increase monitoring of video produced with ritual killing contents by ensuring that the part containing the ritual part is not allowed into the public space.

A total of about 286 foreigners who are originally citizens of America, Europe, and others were granted the right to be citizens of Nigeria. This is amidst some Nigerian citizens desperately crossing the desert into Europe in search of greener pasture and eventual grabbing of a green card. The Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola stated this today Wednesday, 09th February 2022, while speaking during the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.

The 14th Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II has declared that Nigeria is “living on an extra time”. The deposed Emir was speaking during a reception organized in honor of, Chief Tayo Sowunmi, the Babanla Adinni of Egbaland, to commemorate his 80th birthday held in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun state. He said, greater challenges are still ahead for Nigeria from 2023, calling on the presidential aspirant to prepare for the greater task ahead, saying is no longer going to be business as usual.

Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State has warned that Boko Haram menace will be “a child’s play” if the Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) is allowed to grow. He gave the warning when he appeared at the weekly briefing organised by the Presidential Communication Team led by the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, at the State House, Abuja, on Thursday. “While the challenge of insecurity is being solved gradually, it is not yet over. I have said it times without number that in addition to what we are doing, there is a need for government to rethink and look into the possibility of hiring mercenaries.
