The Defence Headquarters has stated that the sudden increase in terrorist attacks in North-East and North West is hardened by influx of foreign insurgents providing supports to local terror groups.

In a final clearance of remnant of terrorist in Nigeria, the Joint Task Force of Operation Hadin Kai in the North-East has imposed a total ban on the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), popularly called drones, across Borno, Yobe, and Adamawa states. The Air Component Commander of Operation Hadin Kai, Air Commodore U.U. Idris, , gave the directive through a signal dispatched to the all Army formations, citing security risks posed by unauthorized drone operations in the region.

However, troops managed to neutralize many of the terrorists during the encounter.
