The Nigerian Army has said it is suspending the operations of the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund in the North-East theatre until further notice.

Nigeria's Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.Gen. Tukur Buratai has revealed that banditry and other criminal activities which have torment Zamfara and its environs will soon be over. The disclosure was made on Thursday, 13th December 2018 during the unveiling of the 1 Brigade of the Nigerian Army facility donated to it by the Government of Zamfara State.

The Nigerian Army has announced that it repelled another attack by BokoHaram in Arege village in Borno State while attempting to infiltrate 118 Battalion. Scores of the insurgents were reportedly killed, while high caliber weapons were recovered including; one Anti Aircraft Gun, four AK 47 rifles and one Light Machine Gun, with hundreds of different caliber of ammunition.
