The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has dismissed about 27 of its officers for involving in fraudulent activities and other misconducts contrary to the standard operating procedures, SOP, of the agency. Although the anti graft did not give detail of names of the affected personnel’s, their dismissal followed the recommendation of the staff disciplinary committee of the agency.

The Nigeria Police Force has faulted a report released by the Amnesty International which accused the security agency of using maximum force against #EndBadGovernance protesters in August, killing 24 persons and detaining over 100 others including minors. Recall on November 28 2024, Amnesty International had released a report, titled “Bloody August: Nigeria Government’s Violent Crackdown on #EndBadGovernance Protests.”

The special brigade of the Nigerian Army (NA) has eliminated several Lakurawa bandits and destroyed about 22 camps in Sokoto and Kebbi states which was disclosed on Friday to news correspondents in Sokoto state by military authorities.
