Proclamation Saga: Edo Assembly Declares 14 Members-Elects' Seats Vacant

Edo State House of Assembly has on Wednesday, 5th December 2019 declared vacant the seats of 12 members-elect who were yet to be sworn in following the controversies trailing the inauguration of the parliament. The house also declared the seats of MrUyiEkhosuehi and Mr Henry Okaka, representing  Oredo East and Owan East respectively, who didn’t meet the mandatory sitting requirement as vacant.

Buhari Appoints New NAHCON Boss, 15 Others

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Mallam Zikrullah Olakunle Hassan as the new chairman of the National Hajj Commission (NAHCON) and 15 other members. Their appointments were received by the Senate for confirmation via a letter addressed to the President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan and read in plenary Tuesday.

The Speaker, Taraba State House of Assembly, Peter Abel Diah has on Sunday resigned after series of political issues. He confirmed his resignation while addressing journalists on Sunday in Jalingo, saying his resignation was based on personal reasons.

This category of people are those placed on the grade level they did not earn, receiving more salaries than they deserve or participate in introducing ghost names into the voucher for payments.
