Governor of Kaduna state, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai has finally reacted to his suspension by a faction of the All Progressives Congress in the state. He described those responsible for his suspension as impostors, with no legitimate powers to take decision on behalf of the party. The Governor stated this on Monday Night in a statement issued by his Spokesman, Samuel Aruwan. Aruwan who appeared on Channels Television said;
Fresh from the historic feat of the passage of NotTooYoungTorun bill in over 24 states constitutionally required by law, the bill has enjoyed another major boost as British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Paul Arkwright has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to assent to the bill as soon as its transmitted to him by the National Assembly.
Mr Arkwright said this on Saturday barely 24 hours after the #NotTooYoungToRun movement issued 30-day ultimatum to State Assemblies, National Assembly and the Executive to conclude the ongoing constitutional amendments process.
While congratulating the movement on the historic feat, he said the next step is for young people especially women to present themselves as candidates.
Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court Abuja on Tuesday ruled that the trial of the missing leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu be handled separately from the rest of his co-defendants. Justice Nyako gave the order following an application filed by the prosecuting counsel Mr. Shuaibu Labaran.
President Muhammadu Buhari has assured Nigerians that all mismanaged and misappropriated national assets recovered will be sold off.
In a statement issued on Monday by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity Mr Garba Shehu, he also vowed to ensure that the proceeds of the sales are paid to the treasury for the benefit of the country.
A faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna state has suspended Nasir el-Rufai, governor of the state, for six months.
El-Rufai’s suspension is coming three days after the faction, known as Kaduna Restoration Group, issued him a query and suspended three of his aides.
The faction led by Suleiman Hunkuyi, senator representing Kaduna north central, had accused el-Rufai of “anti-party activities and anti-human activities”.
