Ahead 2023: APC Bigwigs Gradually Shredding The Party Into Pieces – Tinibu Aid

Mr. Tunde Rahman, a media adviser to the All Progressive Congress (APC) National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has accused some chieftains of the APC of threatening the very fabric of the party into disintegration in the name of politicking ahead of the 2023 general election. Mr. Rahman said Asiwaju is unlike some leaders or governors who confess loyalty to the party but their actions suggest otherwise.

Ondo Governorship Election: 12 Out Of 14 Activities Completed - Mahmood Yakubu

The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Mahmood Yakubu has disclosed that the commission has completed 12 out of the 14 activities listed on the election timetable, also noting that sensitive materials to be used in the conduct of the Ondo governorship election, will be delivered by the Central Bank Nigeria to its Akure branch on Monday 5th of October.

INEC Declares Obaseki Winner Of Edo Elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the People Democratic Party's (PDP) candidate Godwin Obaseki as the Governor-elect of the 2020 Edo Election after he emerged victorious against APC'sIze-Iyamu and 13 others. The result of the election was announced on Sunday by INEC's Returning Officer, Prof. Akpofure Rim-Rukeh who stated that the former APC governorship flag bearer secured 307,955 votes as against his closest rival, OsagieIze-Iyamu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who got 223,619 votes. 

FEC Okays Establishment of New Anti-Corruption Agency

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the establishment of a new anti-corruption agency which will be saddled with proper coordination and recovery of all recovered looted assets in the country. The Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami revealed this to State House correspondents following the Federal Executive Council, FEC, meeting on Wednesday, which was presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Council Chamber, Presidential Villa, Abuja. The AGF said the new agency, called 'Proceeds of Crime Recovery and Management Agency', will oversee the responsibility of managing the assets that constitute the proceeds of crime in Nigeria. Already, the council has approved the transmission of a bill to the National Assembly to that effect.

INEC Hands Over Certificate Of Return To Governor Obaseki

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Tuesday handed over the certificate of return to Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, and his deputy Philip Shaibu, following their victory at the just concluded governorship election. INEC urged former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole; gubernatorial candidate of the APC, Osagie Ize-Iyamu, and other members of the APC to join hands with his administration to move the state forward. Governor Obaseki while receiving the certificate commended President Muhammadu Buhari for ensuring that the governorship election was free, fair, and credible.

Edo Decide: Anxiety High As 1.7m Electorates Set To Cast Their Votes

Over 1.7million eligible voters will today (Sept 19, 2020) decide the person that will stir the affairs of Edo state in the next four years. Accordingly, the stage is set between the incumbent Governor Godwin Obaseki of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Pastor Ize-Iyamu of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and 12 others from other political parties would also participate in the race.

INEC Dismisses Three Workers, Indicts Varsity Lecturers Over Electoral Malpractice

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has indicted some University lecturers over allegations of electoral malpractice during the 2019 election in Akwa Ibom State, also sacking three ICT staff of the commission. The State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Mr. Mike Igini made the disclosure on Tuesday while addressing the media, saying the Collation and Returning officers are alleged to have aided in manipulating and falsifying election results.
