The National President of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Chris Isiguzo has revealed what the leadership of the Union discussed with President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House on Thursday following a brief closed-door meeting.
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Rivers State, has reacted to the decision by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to shift collation and announcement of the election in the state to April 2. According to Dailypost, the party made its position known in a statement issued on Thursday by its chairman, Felix Obuah.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced distribution of sensitive materials to the various states where the governorship and state houses of assembly supplementary election will be conducted this Saturday.
The materials according to available information are being conveyed by the Nigerian Air Force.
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Tuesday said he cannot comment on the recently held presidential election in the country because the matter is before the tribunal. In preparation for the supplementary election in some states that were declared inconclusive, the Federal Government had directed the closure of all land borders in Adamawa, BeFederal Sokoto states. Mohammed Babandede, the Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration service, disclosed this on Thursday in Abuja.
President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday 20th March 2019, has rejected five (5) bills transmitted to him by the National Assembly. The bills which are the Nigerian Film Commission bill, Immigration Amendment bill 2018, Climate Change bill 2018, Chartered Institute of Pension Practitioners bill 2018 and Digital Rights and Freedom bill.
