The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Kebbi Area Command has tendered over 6,240 pieces of cap-sensitive dynamite explosives intercepted along the Yauri/Jega road in 2022 to the Department of State Services (DSS).
The Kebbi Area Comptroller of Customs, Iheanacho Ojike, said the dynamites were intercepted by the Joint Border Patrol Team comprising operatives from Customs, Army, Police, Immigration, and the DSS while on intelligence based patrol.
Customs said the handing over was done in the spirit of inter-agency collaboration.
Ojike said a joint examination was conducted in the presence of relevant units of the Customs, and Police and the suspected items were found to contain 40 cartons and sacks totaling 6,240 pieces of cap-sensitive dynamite explosives (super power 90).
The NCS Comptroller expresses satisfaction handing over the items to the DSS in the spirit of interagency collaboration and for continued investigation.
The State Director of DSS, represented by the Deputy Director, Anthony Oduwalu while receiving the items commended the Customs and pledged that the interagency collaboration would be sustained.
