The Federal Government has disclosed plans to remove the Naira from all Peer-to-Peer, P2P, platforms to address Foreign Exchange, FX.
The Director General of the Securities and Exchange Commission, Emomotimi Agama, revealed this during a virtual meeting with block chain stakeholders on Monday.
The step is aimed at tackling the manipulation of the local currency’s value in the foreign exchange market.
The development follows investigation and scrutiny of cryptocurrency exchanges in recent months by the country’s regulatory authorities.
