Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, the former Minister of Science and Technology during Muhammadu Buhari’s administration is dead, according to sources close to the deceased. Onu, the first civilian governor of Abia State, died in Abuja on Thursday at an undisclosed hospital, following his battle with an undisclosed medical ailment.
Former President Buhari appointed Onu as the Minister of Science and Technology in November 2015.
However, the late 72-year-old resigned his position on May 6, 2022 to contest for the presidential flag of the All Progressives Congress (APC) but lost to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
