President Tinubu Appoints Executive Directors For NPA, NIMASA

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu appointed six new executive directors in the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), which are agencies under the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy.


This was disclosed in a statement released by Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, which stated that “the new appointees will expeditiously and efficiently execute on their collective mandate to create the conditions required to significantly raise the contribution of the Marine & Blue Economy sector to the nation’s GDP.”

At the NPA, President Tinubu appointed Vivian Edet as Executive Director, Finance & Administration; Olalekan Badmus as Executive Director, Marine & Operations and Ibrahim Umar as Executive Director, Engineering & Technical Services.

Meanwhile at NIMASA, Jibril Abba was appointed as Executive Director of Maritime Labour & Cabotage Services; Chudi Offodile as the Executive Director of Finance & Administration and Fatai Adeyemi as the Executive Director of Operations.

According to the statement, the President expects the newly appointed Executive Directors to transform “the Nigerian economy into a labour-intensive and inclusive one that creates new opportunity for all Nigerians in accordance with the Renewed Hope Agenda, under the guidance of the Minister of Marine & Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola.”
