The Bank of Industry and the Ministry of Mines and Steel Development, on Tuesday, sealed a N5bn financing pact under the Artisanal and Small-Scale Miners Financing Support Fund for the development of the mining sector.

Humanitarian Workers Pull Out Of IDPs Camp In Maiduguri

Humanitarian workers have pulled out of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital. The decision followed the outbreak of violence in the camp during a protest by the IDPs over the quantity of food brought in for distribution.

The Chief Executive Officer of Capital Oil and Gas, Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah who contested the Anambra state gubernatorial primaries on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said he had sued the party over alleged irregularities in the conduct of the exercise that produced Oseloka Obaze as the winner.  The aggrieved Ubah stated this in Awka while addressing the panel that conducted the exercise.

Sallah: FRSC Deploys 33,000 Personnel Nation Wide

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) says it is deploying 33,000 personnel and 859 vehicles for a nationwide special patrol during the Sallah to ensure a free flow of traffic and check accidents.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has ignored a critical meeting with the Federal Governement to negotiate ways of ending the impasse of the ongoing nationwide strike. The president of ASUU, Biodun Ogunyemi, confirmed that the union will not attend the meeting stating that the union has met and forward a new proposal to the Federal Government for consideration.

The Presidential aide who made this known on Tuesday in a series of tweet on her verified handle said the move was a clear demonstration of ignorance and called on the protesters to make findings before embarking on such actions.
