President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday received Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, at the Abuja House, London. President Buhari who travelled to the British capital on Monday would be holding a series of meetings with some individuals before participating in the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meetings scheduled for April 18-20, spokesman to the president said.

Following President Buhari's decalaration that he would seek reelection in 2019, the All Progressives Congress, United Kingdom chapter, said it would pay for his Expression of Interest and nomination form. The group made this known in a statement issued to newsmen on Tuesday by its spokesman, Jacob Ogunseye.

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has warned residents in the state to desist from activities that can lead to the breakdown of law and order in the state.

The governor gave the warning in a statement over the weekend by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Terver Akase.

He noted that the people of the state are peace-loving and not at war with anyone and condemned the attacks on passengers by hoodlums on Saturday near Yelwata, along Lafia-Makurdi Highway.

President Muhammadu Buhari has urged members of the governing party, the All Progressives Congress APC, to shun acts that will divide them ahead of the forth-coming general election. He gave the advice on Monday in his address to the National Executive Committee NEC of the APC at the party’s National Secretariat, Wuse, Abuja.

The Governor of Imo state, Rochas Owelle Okorocha has said the decision of President Muhammadu Buhari to seek reelection in 2019 would go a long way in silencing the voices of opposition elements in the country. The Chairman of Progressives Governors Forum made his position known in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary Sam Onwuemeodo.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has raised an alarm over an alleged plot by the Federal Government to frame him.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governor said the Federal Government is planning to plant illegal items on him in any of his trips outside the shores of Nigeria, and have him quizzed and embarrassed by foreign security agencies.

In a statement signed by his special assistant on Electronic Media, Simeon Nwakaudu he said this was revealed after investigations by the Rivers State government.
