The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Wednesday announced dates for the commencement of the recall process of the embattled Senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye. The Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state Professor James Apam said following the appeal court ruling that INEC can commence the recall process, the commission has fixed the last Saturday of April as the verification date.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has handed over one of its staff in Nasarawa, to the Department of State Security Services (DSS), for interrogation over alleged sales of Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) forms.

INEC’s administrative secretary in Nasarawa Mr Opaleke Otolorin, said in a statement on Wednesday in Lafia.

While it is not yet clear if all 110 girls were released, official confirmation from the Presidency indicates that the girls are now in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS), in Dapchi.

The DSS will be briefing the President and the nation in the course of the day.

The Federal Government on Wednesday debunked media reports that five out of the 110 abducted schoolgirls from Dapchi, Yobe state died in the hands of their abductors. The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie-Oyegun says despite the challenges experienced by President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration it has still been able to deliver on its election promises.
