The ruling All Progressives Congress has begun tour of states in the South-South geopolitical zone to mobilise support for President Muhammadu Buhari-led government and the party ahead of the 2019 general elections.
In a statement issued by the Zonal Publicity Secretary of the APC, Mr. Martins Mukoro, the party said the tour would also afford it to reconcile all aggrieved members in the various state chapters to enhance the party’s unity for 2019.
It noted that the visits would be led by its National Vice-Chairman (South-South), Mr. Hilliard Eta, to Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Bayelsa, Delta and Edo states.
The statement explained that the tour which would commence this week is expected to end on September 30th. It posited that the party would strategise and mobilise its members for total victory particularly in the zone.
Mukoro added, “In furtherance of efforts to re-invigorate the state chapters of the party in the South-South geopolitical zone, the Zonal Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress party led by the National Vice Chairman who doubles as the zonal chairman, Hilliard Eta, will embark on a tour of the South-South states.”
