Nigeria Football Federation 2nd Vice President/LMC Chairman Shehu Dikko has been inducted into the FIFA Football Stakeholders Committee, after attending his first meeting of the panel at the Home of FIFA in Zurich, Switzerland on Wednesday, 28 February. FIFA President Gianni Infantino performed the induction alongside the Chairman of the committee, Victor Montagliani, who is also President of CONCACAF and also a FIFA Vice President.

Russia was reinstated by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) after the remaining tests of the country’s athletes at the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics were all returned negative. Russians competed as neutrals at the Games after the IOC suspended the country’s Olympic Committee (ROC) in December, saying it had found evidence of an “unprecedented systematic manipulation” of the anti-doping system.

Usain Bolt, the 100-metre world record holder, says he has agreed to sign for a football club. Bolt, 31, retired from athletics last year after a glittering career in which he won eight Olympic gold medals. He has always spoken of his desire to play football once his sprinting career was over, and on Sunday he tweeted to say “I’ve signed for a football team! Find out which one this Tuesday at 8am GMT.”

Nigeria’s men’s basketball team, the D’Tigers maintained their 32nd position in the latest FIBA World Ranking for the month of February released on Thursday. D’Tigers are one of the 17 teams that remained stagnant in the latest ranking. The Nigerian team is currently participating in the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup African Qualifiers where they lead‎ Group D with six points following three wins out of three games.

Russia's Olympic membership has been restored by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) following its suspension from Pyeongchang 2018.

Russia was banned from February's Games by the IOC over state-sponsored doping.

Despite the ban, 168 Russians competed as neutrals in South Korea, and two of them failed drugs tests.

Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), have officially signed a five-year partnership deal with Nigerian Breweries Plc, brewers of Star Lager and Amstel Malta, the according to reports. The deal which was signed penultimate week in Lagos, was confirmed on Star Nigeria’s verified Twitter handle.
