The International Association of Athletics Federations on Friday confirmed Nigeria along with eight other countries for the women’s 4x400m relay at the 2018 World Indoor Championships in Birmingham from March 2 to 4. In a statement, the IAAF listed Nigeria along with the Czech Republic, Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Italy, Jamaica, Kazakhstan, Poland, Portugal, Ukraine and the United States for the event.

37 Athletes For Commonwealth Games

Thirty-seven athletes have been selected by the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) to represent the country at the 2018 Commonwealth Games holding in April at Gold Coast in Australia.

Sunday Adeleye, the AFN Technical Director, said the athletes are made up of 10 foreign-based and 27 home-based athletes.

Qatar the host for 2022 world cup will plant at least 16,000 trees in a bid to "beautify" its eight planned 2022 World Cup stadiums, tournament organisers said on Thursday. The trees, a mixture of local specimens and other varieties imported from China, Spain and Thailand, will be grown in a vast nursery outside capital city Doha before being planted around the venues.
