Osinbajo Presides Over First Economic Management Team (EMT) Meeting

The Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, has on Wednesday, 28th August 2019 presided over the first Economic Management Team (EMT) meeting since the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari for the second tenure of office.

 

In a tweet through a verified handle of his media aide, Laolu Akande informed that Osinbajo is presiding of the meeting themed, “Next Level Agenda: Budget Issues.”

Also, the crucial meeting was opened with a review of the 2019 budget implementation thereafter, deliberations commence on the current state of the economy and the forecast on projected economic gains for the country.

Those present at the meeting include the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed; Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Adeniyi Adebayo; Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed; Minister of Works and Housing, Tunde Fashola, Minister of State, Finance, Budget and National Planning, Clement Ike, and Minister of State, Petroleum, Timipre Sylva.

Also, other Heads of economic institutions in the country present at the meeting were Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria(CBN), Godwin Emefiele, Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation(NNPC), Mele Kyari; Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) chairman, Tunde Fowler; Directors-General from the Budget Office, Debt Management Office(DMO), National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) and Special Advisers on Economic Matters, among others.
