The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has urged the newly sworn-in Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri to encourage the Federal Government to absorb operators of the illegal refineries into the national grid.

The Chairman of IPMAN, Enugu Depot Community in charge of Anambra, Ebonyi and Enugu States, Chinedu Anyaso, stated this in an interview on Tuesday in Awka.

Anyaso added that, instead of destroying the illegal infrastructures, the Government should call the operators to be part of the solution for a short term, while waiting the nation’s refineries to resume operations. This will reduce the pressure on foreign exchange.
