The Federal Government Social Intervention Programme, N-Power, will re-open by 11.30pm today, for registration of new beneficiaries.

According to information available on Twitter and webpage of the programme, the current registration will be open only to graduate applicants.

The N-Power, launched in June, 2016, has three segments: N-Power Volunteer Corps, N-Power Knowledge and N-Power Build.

The last two segments classified as “Non-Graduate Categories” and targets a combined 100,000 beneficiaries while the first segment is a “Graduate Category” and targets 500,000 beneficiaries.

3,700 of the successful applicants for the current recruitment are expected to be engaged as volunteers for a new scheme in the programme called the N-Power Voluntary Asset and Income Declaration Scheme (VAIDS).

The VAIDS was introduced to encourage non-compliant and partially compliant taxpayers to voluntarily declare their correct income and assets and pay the appropriate tax due to the government.

The 3,700 volunteers to be selected into the scheme will work with the Federal Ministry of Finance and the Joint Tax Board and will function as community tax liaison officers with such responsibilities as tax promotion, document review, record keeping, responding to online inquiries, customer management and report writing.

Since its launch, the programme has recorded over 100,000 beneficiaries in the non-graduates category.

Online application on the N-power portal will be closed on July 13.
