The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) says it has further crashed the price of Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) popularly known as Diesel from N175 to N155 per litre across most filling stations in the country.
The Group General Manager, Public Affairs Division, Ndu Ughamadu made this disclosure on Sunday during a chat with newsmen in Abuja. He stated that a survey carried out by the Corporation across the country indicated that the price of AGO has fallen increasingly due to the strategic intervention in the oil sector by the Corporation.
“In Port Harcourt, the average price is as low as N150 per litre, while stations in Abuja sell between N155 and N160" he said
Ughamadu listed some of the measures adopted in the sector to guarantee product availability and secure downward review of price to include remodeling of distribution channel to address sufficiency issues as well as sustained improvement in the supply of AGO. He also said the Corporation involved Major oil marketers and other stakeholders in the sector to achieve this.
