Wedding fever has now officially taken over as Britain gets ready to watch Prince Harry marry Meghan Markle.

After a day of confusion, in which he appeared to change his plans repeatedly, Thomas Markle announced via US celebrity website TMZ that he was due to have an operation and would not attend the Royal wedding on Saturday.

According to report, the elder Markle will reportedly undergo the surgery at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning, just days before his daughter weds Prince Harry in the UK.

Talking to TMZ on Monday, Thomas revealed that he was still having chest pain and was considering returning to the hospital.

After checking himself back into the hospital again on Tuesday, Thomas explained that his heart had been "seriously damaged" after the heart attack and that he would need to be operated upon.

Thomas initially decided to stay off the wedding after believing that he embarrassed his daughter and the Royal Family after reportedly participating in a photoshoot with a paparazzi agency.

After receiving text messages from his daughter who was concerned about his health, he became worried saying that he regrets the idea of missing one of the greatest moments in history of walking his daughter down the aisle.

"He added, "Of course I'd walk her down the aisle. This is a historic moment. I'd like to be a part of history."
