Yul Edochie, a popular Nollywood actor and son of a veteran actor, Pete Edochie may have commenced campaign ahead of his quest to win the Anambra State governorship election scheduled for November 2017. The actor who took to his Twitter handle on Monday, lampooned politicians for contributing largely to the stagnation of the country.
He said the erroneous believe that Nigerians should always vote for leaders with political experience was the root cause of the nation's problem. The actor who posted his Campaign poster on his handle, wrote the following
"We've been electing older leaders all in the name of political experience where has that gotten us to. It is time for the youth to take over" he added.
Yul Edochie had declared his intention to contest the Anambra state governorship election last week. In a post that ppaeraed on his social media pages, he wrote
"My name is Yul Edochie.
And I'm running for Governor of Anambra State. 2017.
#TheLastBusStop
We need a new brand of Leaders who will put the masses first.
The older ones have failed us for too long...
They have come to THE LAST BUS STOP!!!"
Yul Edochie adds to the number of Nollywood Actors and Actresses who have indicated interest in politics. Apart from Richard Mofe-Damijo, who served in the Delta State Executive Council, Desmond Elliot is currently a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly. Kate Henshaw's attempt ended when she failed to scale through her party's primaries.
