Ireland's Foreign Minister Simon Coveney has tweeted that Egyptian authorities have released an Irish citizen arrested in 2013.
Ibrahim Halawa was 17 at the time of his arrest.

He was picked up by security officials during a siege at the Al-Fath mosque in the capital, Cairo, in 2013.

He was accused along with nearly 500 others of inciting violence, riot and sabotage.

He was acquitted of all charges more than a month ago, but his release was delayed.
