South African President Cyril Ramaphosa will announce a cabinet reshuffle at 1830 GMT on Monday, his office said in a short statement.
Ramaphosa was sworn almost two weeks ago after his scandal-plagued predecessor, Jacob Zuma, reluctantly resigned.
Speculation is mounting about whether Zuma-era Finance Minister Malusi Gigaba will keep his position. Gigaba, who delivered the budget speech on Monday, has said he serves at the pleasure of the president when asked about his job.
The statement from Ramaphosa’s office came minutes after news channels eNCA and SABC News reported that David Mabuza, deputy president of the ruling African National Congress, and Zweli Mkhize, the former party treasurer general, would be sworn as members of parliament.
Parliamentary spokesman Moloto Mothapo did not respond to telephone requests for comment.
