The Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole has expressed worry over reports that more than half of foreign trained doctors and dentist failed the requisite examinations to secure practice license of the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).

The Minister who stated this on Friday during their induction at the MDCN headquarters, Abuja disclosed that out of 334 doctors and Dentists who graduated from various medical schools abroad and sat for the MDCN examination, only 160 doctors and 4 dentists passed a 405 success rate.

He advised parents to send their children and wards to reputable schools abroad to avoid wasting hard earned money on mushroom schools.

Parents, please ask questions before you send your ward to overseas institutions. The fact it [the institution] is foreign does not make it good or excellent. Shine your eyes before you spend your hard-earned dollars sending your child to a school that's not good."
