The Federal Government on Thursday arraigned the Director of Finance and Account in the Federal Ministry of Power, Works and Housing, Mr. Ibrahim Tumsah over his alleged failure to declare his ownership of 86 exotic cars. Yumsay who was docked before the Federal High Court in Abuja alongside his brother Mr. Tijani Tumsah was a member of the Presidential Committee on North East Initiative and a former Interim National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The Nigerian Army has launched a new operation code-named “Ayem Akpatuma”, meaning ‘Cat Race’ to tackle the crises between herdsmen and farmer as well as cases of kidnapping in Benue and other states. Chief of Training and Operations, Major General David Ahmadu, announced this on Wednesday while briefing reporters at the Army Headquarters Conference Room in Abuja.

An FCT High Court in Jabi on Monday, commenced trial in the case of culpable homicide against Maryam Sanda, accused of killing her husband, Bilyamin Bello.

The FCT Police Command December, last year, also docked Maryam’s mother, Maimuna Aliyu, her brother, Aliyu Sanda and one other for allegedly helping to conceal evidence on the crime scene.

President Muhammadu Buhari has warned that the government would no longer tolerate the attacks by suspected herdsmen and other bandits. Buhari who was on official visit to Nasarawa state, frowned at what he described as “unwarranted killing of innocent citizens’’. He said the government was working hard to instil peace and stability and enjoined Nigerians to resist the temptation of engaging in reprisals.

Some youths in Benue state on Wednesday killed seven persons in Gboko area. The Benue State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Owoseni Fatai who confirmed the incident while briefing newsmen in his office said the victims were reportedly travelling to either Okene in Kogi state or Taraba state when criminals attacked, killed and burnt them to ashes.
