The Academic Staff Union of the Nigerian Universities, ASUU has this morning called off the industrial action. ASUU Chairman, Professor Biodun Ogunyemi disclosed this while addressing newsmen shortly after the Union negotiations with the Federal Government. The Academicians embanked on the industrial action nine months ago.
The prolonged strike lingers due to the failure of both government and ASUU to reach a common ground making the student remain at home since March 2020.
According to Prof. Ogunyemi, We are going back to strive for our students to excel. We are returning to classes and appeal to parents to work with us for the revitalization of universities,”.
