FG Introduces 'Pulaku Initiative' to Combat Farmer-Herders Squabble

The federal government through Vice President, Kasim Shettima, has revealed that its Administration is set to commence the implementation of the ‘Pulaku Initiative’, a large-scale resettlement programme aimed at addressing the root causes of farmer-herder conflicts and fostering national unity. Shettima, on Tuesday, inaugurated a steering committee to coordinate the implementation of the initiative in fulfillment of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s promise to improve the lives of all Nigerians, at the Presidential Villa, chaired by Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Arc. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa also has representatives of governors of the affected States as members.

Food Security: Providing Only Grains As Palliative To Nigerians Insulting – NLC Kicks

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has chided the presidency that it is insulting to Nigerians for the Federal Government instead of making solid provision that will checkmate the food insecurity; they have chosen to provide grains as a palliative. President of the NLC, Comrade Joe Ajaero, described the step the federal government is seeking to implement as a joke during an interview on Arise Television today.

Climate: NEDC Plans To Establish Mega-Waste Recycling Centre In Adamawa

The North East Development Commission has disclosed its plan of establishing a mega waste collecting point in Adamawa in its effort to support clean energy and environment. This was made known by the Environment and Natural Resource manager of the commission, Mr Sufyan Mallum during an opening season of a five-days training workshop for 100 stakeholders on climate change in Yola today. According to Mallum, the recycling plant would have the capacity of collection 100 tonnes of waste per day and shall be handed over to the state management when completed for running it.
