Emerging reports revealed that the ten man committee mandated to resolve all contentious issues between the North and the South East has failed to reach a consensus that will facilitate the withdrawal of the quit notice issued to all Igbos to vacate the Northern Region on or before October 1.

Justice Chuka Obiozor of Federal High Court, Lagos today ordered permanent forfeiture to the Federal Government of a $37.5m skyscraper on the highbrow Banana Island, Lagos, belonging to former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke. The Judge, also ordered that the sums of $2,740,197.96 and N84,537,840.70 realised as rents on the property should also be forfeited to the Federal Government.

MASSOB Dares IPOB

Amidst resolve by IPOB to disrupt Anambra polls, another pro-Biafran group, MASSOB has urged Biafrans to procure their voter's cards and vote for the candidate of their choice in the forthcoming election. This came as a gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prince John Okechukwu Emeka, over the weekend, said no group has the power to stop the Anambra State governorship election slated for November 18.

Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Peter Fayose, on Friday approved the appointment of news commissioners into the State Executive Council. The appointment of the new commissioners was contained in a statement by Fayose’s Special Adviser on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka.
