Prof. Ango Abdullahi

The Spokesman of Northern Elders Forum, Prof. Ango Abdullahi has chided Niger Delta stakeholders and militants agitating for resource control, advising them to focus instead on resource management. The Leader of the Northern Elders Forum (NEF) made the statement at an event tagged "National Discourse" to commemorate the 90th birthday of Chief Edwin Clark.

Femi Falana (SAN)

The perceived friendship between the Presidency and Human Rights Lawyer, Femi Falana appears to have gone soar. This followed recent war of words between the radical lawyer and the Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu.  Shehu on Tuesday while reacting to questions during a media chat organized by all media aides in the Presidency had claimed that "Ibrahim El-Zakzaky was not in detention but in protective custody".

Lamido Sanusi - Emir of Kano

The Kano state Government has called-off ongoing investigation of Muhammad Sanusi II, the Emir of Kano. This followed intervention of the Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida (rtd), Gen. Abdulsalam Abubakar (rtd), the Sultan of Sokoto and some Northern governors.

Ifeanyi Ubah

Justice Mohammed Idris of the Lagos Federal High Court has given the Department of State Service, DSS, a 48-hours ultimatum to charge the detained Managing Director of Capital Oil and Gas, Ifeanyi Ubah to court or release him. In a 100 page judgment, the trial judge, on Thursday, May 25, ordered the DSS to release Ubah, if it fails to file a charge against the oil magnate.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) has begun a fresh clampdown on associates of the embattled former National Security Adviser (NSA), Retired Col. Sambo Dasuki . The anti-graft agency has seized 18 houses in an estate allegedly belonging to Alhaji Aliyu Usman, an associate of the former NSA.
